Volunteer Joanne Receives her MBE!

Congratulations to our longest serving volunteer, Joanne, who was presented with her MBE by Princess Anne at Windsor Castle on 21st February.  Joanne has volunteered with us since 1998 and received the royal honour for Services to Vulnerable Families in the Lisburn Area – well done Joanne, we are proud of you!

Home-Visiting/Family Group Volunteers – If you are a parent/grandparent/carer and have about three hours to spare each week, we are currently looking for volunteers to join our team.  Full training and ongoing support provided, all expenses paid.  Our next volunteer preparation course commences Monday 20th March and will run on Monday mornings for four/five weeks.
Trustee Volunteers – trustees are volunteers who help guide Home-Start and contribute to their leadership and direction.  Home-Start Trustees help parents build better lives for children in their community.
Please contact us if you feel you have time to commit to volunteering with us.

Tesco Collection Day Success!

A massive thank you to all the customers of Tesco, Bentrim Road, Lisburn for generously donating to us at our collection day on Thursday 26th January 2023.  We raised a fantastic £353.16! Thanks to Tesco Community Champion, Ann Broome for all her assistance, and to all those who supported us by standing with collecting tins, we really appreciate your help.

We were able to continue supporting local families going through a difficult time due to the generosity of the following organisations:- South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust, The Henry Smith Charity (Improving Lives), BBC Children in Need, Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, John Moores Foundation, Tesco Groundworks, Home-Start UK Cost of Living Grant.
Also, a massive thank you to everyone who supported/took part in our fundraising events, and to those who generously donated to the scheme.  Special thanks to Laurelhill Community College for holding a non-uniform day on our behalf and to Poundstretcher Lisburn for having our collecting tins at their tills.

A big thank you to all the members and friends at Lagan Valley Vineyard Church for generously making up Christmas gift bags for our families.  The bags included story books, games, calendars, biscuits, juice, bubbles, balloons and so much more!  We really appreciate all the effort you put in to make Christmas time special for our families!
